Black Pride STL: 2015 - 2017 - 30 Days of Pride

As an Editor and Chief, I often find myself in the company of community leaders such as Randy Rafter. I remember our first meeting, I was greeted with charm, humor, and provided me with a wonderful education on the St. Louis LGBTQ community. Randy told me, and so many horrible things regarding the divisions and corruption in the St. Louis LGBTQ community over the years. I remember being asked to go on the news to talk about the racism in the LGBTQ community, and the best advice Randy gave me was just to be truthful.

Randy has protected and given me more advice than anyone else in St. Louis. It was nice to have a heads up on who you should and shouldn’t work with, in a town filled with cliques of division. I rarely photograph an event more than once, but The House of Chuck Magazine spent more time with Black Pride St. Louis than any other LGBTQ organization. The people always ask me why Black Pride St. Louis does not get the support they deserve; it is quite apparent. The House of Chuck Magazine hopes that more funding from Pride St. Louis goes into Black Pride St. Louis. We also hope that Pride St. Louis would give Randy Rafter and Black Pride St. Louis more of an influence over the St. Louis Pride events and on the St. Louis Pride board.

At this point, this is not a request; it is an order.

The House of Chuck Magazine thanks you for your services to the LGBTQ community.
